InvestEU loan

DNB is the only Norwegian bank participating in the InvestEU program as a financial partner with EIF. The InvestEU program enables DNB to contribute NOK 2.5 billion in new loans with favourable terms to small and medium-sized companies in order to accelerate investments in green and digital transformation.

DNB offers financing of projects within 2 of the areas of the programme;

1. Sustainable infrastructure
2. Innovation and digitisation

Each loan will be guaranteed by the European Investment Fund (EIF).

DNB is so far the only bank in Norway that offers this financing solution. In addition to DNB, Innovation Norway is participating in the InvestEU program. Innovation Norway will offer different types of InvestEU loans from September 2024.

Each individual loan that DNB will offer in the InvestEU programme can be up to 7.5 million EUR. InvestEU thus represents a powerful financing platform that can help your business realise new investments in innovation, digitalisation and green transformation.

A loan under the «Innovation and Digitalisation» area is a loan for investment in something that contributes to the development of innovative business models or the improvement of existing products or services.

To ensure that the investment made meets the requirements set by InvestEU for «Innovation and Digitalisation», it will have to undergo an assessment process by us at DNB. This ensures that financing actually goes to the goals set for the InvestEU program to be successful.

In practice, this means that your business has the opportunity to get innovative investments financed for, for example, expansion to new market areas, product development, digitisation of value chains, innovative business models, etc. A loan with an InvestEU guarantee also provides competitive conditions.

A loan that is provided under the sustainability window shall finance various projects and investments that have a positive, documentable effect on the environment and/or the climate.

To ensure that the investments meet the InvestEU program’s criteria, DNB will run an internal assessment process, as well as request technical documentation where relevant. This ensures that financing goes to the right investments, which in turn contribute to the InvestEU program’s goals being achieved.

What this means for you

• Green buildings (commercial and residential buildings)
  Applies to new construction, renovation of construction and energy efficiency measures

• Renewable energy
  Applies to the production, storage, transmission and distribution of renewable energy (wind, solar, geothermal), as well as the production of related equipment and key components

• Energy efficiency of industry and agriculture
  Applies to improvement of processes, digitisation, and investment in equipment that helps to improve energy efficiency and/or reduce emissions

• Low-emission transport
  Applies to investments in vehicles, vessels, trains, planes, and personal fuels defined as zero emissions in operations, as well as infrastructure and equipment that support and facilitate these

• Green ICT
  Applies to investments that improve energy efficiency and/or reduce emissions in the ICT sector
